Frequently Asked Questions – Steadfast

Why did you choose to have a limited home-like environment over the traditional high-capacity institution?

At Steadfast, we believe young people thrive best in a small, supportive, home-like environment. By keeping our home intentionally limited in size & having a live-in “house parent,” we provide consistent guidance, individualized attention, & a sense of family that can’t be replicated in a high-capacity facility. This model helps each youth feel safe, valued, & empowered as they work toward independence.

Are you currently taking more youth residents?

Our availability for new youth residents changes as current residents move forward & beds open up. We welcome applications at any time, & if no beds are available, we will place the youth on a waitlist & make contact as soon as a space becomes available.

What do I need to do to refer or become a Steadfast resident?

Contact us here or email us @ info@steadfastmd.org to request & submit an application. Youth must submit their own applications for consideration.

What are your future plans for Steadfast?

As we grow, our goal is to deepen the impact of Steadfast by welcoming more youth into a safe, family-like environment. We’re working toward expanding our home, building new collaborations, & offering even more ways for youth to heal, grow, & succeed. As always, your generous donations allow us to look to the future & make an even bigger impact on the homeless youth of Frederick, Maryland.

Transparency, trust, & respect is at the core of our mission as an organization.
