Homeless youth deserve more than survival – they deserve a future not marred by trauma. Your donation to Steadfast helps them find safety, stability, & the strength to start again as residents of our home. Through your generosity, Steadfast helps break the cycle of homelessness, poverty, crime, & despair – one young life at a time.
With your sustaining or regular donations, your generosity is helping to keep Steadfast youth out of the vicious poverty & crime cycle that many homeless teens fall victim to.
Lead our youth into success with your time, support, and energy by becoming a mentor. You can personally walk alongside our youth in their journey to stability & future success.
We regularly host fundraising events that help build community support & resiliency for our non-profit. By attending, you help ensure stability & recognition for Steadfast.
Unlike traditional shelters, our mission is to provide safe, stable housing in a home-like environment for homeless youth & youth transitioning out of foster care. More than just a bed, Steadfast offers a supportive space where our youth can create their own future story & build a strong foundation for lifelong independence.

We prioritize warmth, comfort, & genuine relationships. Our house is intentionally non-institutional, & residents are treated like family - not wards.

Our first home serves male youth. As part of our future plans, we will be working towards establishing a home to support homeless female youth, as well.

We connect youth to Frederick County’s rich resources: legal aid, education, mental health services, & job & financial literacy training. We also encourage our youth to participate in faith-based or religious affiliations & relationships.

We believe strong relationships drive growth. Caring mentors share meals, teach life skills, & provide lasting support, even after a youth transitions out of our home.

All residents must work, study, or be in a trade program. Youth are re-assessed every 3 months to determine their growth & readiness to transition to independent living.
House-parent Cindy & the Steadfast team know the impact of housing instability firsthand.
By providing a loving, family-like home, our youth heal, thrive in school, & build confidence, life skills, & a strong work ethic – knowing they’ll always have a family to rely on, even after leaving Steadfast.
In 2025, one of our youth, Denzel, transitioned from resident to employee, & is now working as a live-in assistant.
His success through the Steadfast program, dedication to uplifting others, & his work experience, makes him a perfect fit for our team.
Not only does Denzel know the benefits of being raised in a stable environment, but he can also relate to the struggles, pitfalls, & mental health issues that stem from youth homelessness.
We couldn’t be more proud to celebrate Denzel’s role as Steadfast’s first ever “live-In assistant.”
